Projects are usually quite varied, and often one of a kind. E.g., MEC Environmental Consulting<\/strong> was retained by a general contractor in the Detroit metropolitan area to provide technical expertise in remediating a property contaminated with chloroacetophenone (CN), a type of tear gas. Through interviews with public safety officials, staff identified the exact type of tear gas and dispersal agent used and was able to calculate the hypothetical mass of each. MEC Environmental Consulting<\/strong> developed a rigorous and innovative remediation plan based on the unique physico-chemical properties of CN, which can rapidly alternate between solid and gaseous states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
